Sierra won 1st place at the CWHBA foal futurity (Southern Alberta) on Sept 16, 2007 and then went on to win Grand Champion Young Horse!!!  We are so thrilled!

Sierra is an adorable filly with a lot of knee and hock action and 3 white socks. 

Sierra travels correctly and appears to be athletic.  I've seen her jump a manger and a fallen tree with excellent form (snapping up her front legs).  We added "springs" to her name as she is one springy filly that loves to bounce around!

It comes as no surprise that Sierra appears to have talent for jumping as she is bred to jump.  Sierra descends from such jumping greats as Silbersee, Cor de la Bryere, Olympic Ahorn & Nimmerdor. 

Bloodlines:

Sierra is registered with the CWHBA (Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association).

 

Sierra's SIRE is SILBERPFEIL, a 17.2 hh imported Holsteiner with a great disposition.  He carries some of the best bloodlines of Holstein breeding.  SILBERPFEIL is sired by the popular jumper sire Sylvester who produced Olympic Silvano N {Olympic Dressage [Silvano Video]} as well as multiple Grand Prix jumpers including:  South Pacific). Sylvester died young but produced many easy-to-ride and versatile performance horses in Holstein (predominately jumpers). Sylvester had enormous jumping ability with good form and he was very tight with his front legs over fences SILBERPFEIL's pedigree, combines the famous jumping bloodlines of Silbersee (international show jumper who was short listed for the 1988 Seoul Olympics [Silbersee Video]) and Cor de la Bryere (who has produced top performance horses in all three disciplines: dressage, eventing, and showjumping [Cor de la Bryere Video]) SILBERPFEIL's offspring show nice knee & hock action, great dispositions, and excellent jumping ability (often with the ability to snap up their forelegs). Most of his foals possess his size, his presence as well as his intelligence and kind nature.  In Canada and the USA they are already proving themselves up to the open levels of show jumping.

Sierra's DAM is Steelbars Monique, a 1st premium mare with good movement and a beautiful uphill canter.   In 2008, Monique was named Regional Reserve Champion Mare with the CWHBA. Monique descends from such greats as Olympic Ahorn (An international jumping legend with the Dutch Team) & Nimmerdor (Elected in 2000 as "Stallion of the 20th Century" in the Netherlands.  Nimmerdor was 4th in the 2004-2005 KWPN Jumping Index).
