We are thrilled that on Sept 14, 2008 Monique was inspected with the CWHBA and received a 1st Premium score. She won her class and went on to win Regional Reserve Champion Mare!!!!

Monique is a 1999, bay, 1st Premium, CWHBA (Canadian Warmblood) Mare with correct conformation and lovely movement ... she has an awesome uphill canter . Monique is good for the farrier, trailers well, is an easy keeper and has a wonderful disposition. She knows her name and comes running if you call it :-)

Monique is a very fertile mare (fresh or frozen) and has produced 5 quality foals ... one of which was Grand Champion at the 2007 CWHBA show in Olds. This years foal, fabrizio, is for sale. Check him out by clicking here.

Monique is broke to ride, but hasn't been ridden in many, many years. She had a shoulder injury as a foal (she jumped our fence, went across the rode and jumped the neighbour's fence to visit their horses ... their horses chased Monique, who then proceeded to run through the barbed wire :-( and suffered a serious laceration. Monique's injury prevents her from doing jumping or anything other than basic dressage; therefore, we decided that she would be best suited as a broodmare. If she hadn't been injured, she would have made a nice dressage horse as she is soooo easy to collect ... or even a good jumper since she definitely showed talent at a young age!

This year Monique was bred, with one dose of frozen semen, by Padarco (a grand prix jumper who finished 9th at the 2000 World Cup in Las Vegas under Otto Becker at 8 years of age). She is due to foal July 2009.

Monique is available for sale for a limited time. Monique's foals start at $6500 as weanlings so this is a great deal for the two together. Offspring:

Monique's 2008 colt (Fabrizio) is a handsome boy and appears to have an awesome canter, which is very balanced and relaxed ... very much suitable for a career in dressage. Canter pirouettes should be easy for Fabrizio, as that seems to be one of his favourite activities out in the field! Fabrizio has a wonderful trot ... it has excellent reach with good knee and hock action.

In 2007, Sierra Springs was born. Sierra is a bay filly sired by the late jumper-bred, Holsteiner stallion, Silberpfiel. Sierra was the 1st Place Futurity winner and Grand Champion Young Horse at the 2007 CWHBA Show in Olds. She is a very pretty filly with excellent reach. She appears destined for a jumper career as I've seen this filly jump manger's and fallen trees with excellent form ... snapping up her front legs and showing a very good bascule. We added Springs to her name as she loves to jump around.

In 2006, Monique foaled a filly, named Foxy Cleopatra, sired by Freestyle (full sister to Fabrizio). She was 4th in her class at the 2006 CWHBA Show in Olds. Judges comments. "cute little package, lots of action".

2005's foal was Raquel II, sired by Regardez. Raquel has correct conformation and a long reaching stride.

Monique's 1st foal was Ulyssa (born in 2003) and sired by the jumper stallion Urymate de Ste. Hermelle. Ulyssa was 2nd in her class at the 2003 CWHBA Show in Olds. Judges comments, "Strong filly, well boned, athletic, nicely balanced with nice suspension."

Bloodlines:

Monique is sired by Maestro a 16.2hh, 1st Premium registered Dutch Warmblood (going well in dressage). Maestro is sired by Patrick, a former international level jumper and through his dam's side, he descends from such greats as Olympic Ahorn, Nimmerdor & Ladykiller xx as well as Rigoletto

Those of you who are fans of Gelderlands, I'm happy to report that Monique carries 29.68% Gelderlander blood through her veins. Her grandfather Patrick is 100% Gelderlander and Monique's great, great grandfather Nimmerdor is 75% Gelderlander!
